21 Jan Leadership Transition: Building on a Legacy of Growth at iCare
To Our Partners, Clients and Stakeholders:
At iCare, we believe in a future shaped by innovation, excellence, and a steadfast commitment to better health. Today, we are proud to share news of a leadership transition that reflects our enduring vision and strategic planning.
After seven transformative years as President and CEO, Noemi G. Azura will conclude her secondment and return to Insular Life on January 31, 2025, where she will head the InLife Corporate Solutions.
Noemi is a dynamic business leader with over three decades of experience in banking and insurance. Under her leadership, iCare experienced remarkable growth, achieving a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 29% from 2018 to 2023, significantly outpacing the industry average of 8%. This impressive performance was a result of her unwavering commitment to modernizing iCare’s operations. During her tenure, iCare rose from No. 12 in the industry rankings in 2018 to No. 5 by 2024, based on membership fee revenue. This achievement was driven by the successful modernization of its core systems, call center, mobile app, e-commerce platform, and data warehouse. These advancements not only enhanced the customer experience but also streamlined operations and solidified iCare’s position as a leading HMO. She redefined the approach to healthcare, leaving an enduring legacy of innovation and care.
As we honor Noemi’s remarkable contributions, we are excited to welcome Geronimo “Ronnie” V. Francisco as iCare’s new President and CEO. A member of the management committee Noemi formed to drive her vision, Ronnie’s expertise in pricing and strategies was critical in helping iCare achieve its leap in HMO ranking. His leadership and insights have been vital to iCare’s growth and operational efficiency.
Since joining iCare in 2019 as Vice President and Head of the Analytics, Risk, and Compliance Division, Ronnie has worn multiple hats, currently serving as First Vice President – Chief Growth Officer, Chief Actuary, and Chief Risk Officer. His oversight spans critical areas, including Multinational Business Sales, Actuarial Services & Reinsurance, Product and Data Analytics, and Underwriting Departments. By streamlining these functions, Ronnie has ensured sustainable and competitive pricing for Filipinos while fostering company growth and operational efficiency. His strategic leadership and ability to balance multiple roles have contributed to informed decision-making, cohesive risk management, and innovative product development.
This leadership transition marks a bold new chapter for iCare. Ronnie’s vision, expertise, and commitment to innovation make him the ideal leader to build on Noemi’s legacy and propel iCare into its next phase of growth.
We are grateful to Noemi for the foundation she has built and her trusted partnership with Ronnie, which has been instrumental in driving iCare’s progress. Together, they have laid the groundwork for an exciting future that Ronnie will now lead.
Thank you for your continued trust. Together, we are redefining healthcare — making it better, more affordable and accessible, and built to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
