Janine Gutierrez Joins iCare as HMO Brand Ambassador, Marking a Bold Step in Health Advocacy

iCare officially introduced actress and advocate Janine Gutierrez as its new brand ambassador during a launch event held at St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City. The announcement signals a significant step forward in the company’s mission to provide compassionate, accessible, and people-first healthcare to more Filipinos.

The choice of venue was intentional. St. Luke’s is one of iCare’s trusted healthcare partners, and hosting the event at a leading medical institution underscored iCare’s commitment to building real, values-based partnerships in health.

The launch brought together iCare executives, medical professionals, and industry partners for what leaders described as a defining moment for the brand, which has rapidly emerged as the best affordable HMO in the Philippines.

For iCare President and CEO Geronimo “Ronnie” Francisco, the partnership with Janine is not just a campaign. It is a reaffirmation of iCare’s purpose.

“We do not just offer health plans. We build safety nets,” Francisco said. “We create solutions for people who are often left behind by traditional models. We do this because we understand. Because I’ve been there.”

Francisco reflected on his own childhood, growing up in a modest household where medical care was often inaccessible. That personal experience, he said, became the driving force behind iCare’s sustainable pricing, strong provider partnerships, and tech-enabled services.

The event also served as a moment of tribute and reflection. Carol Dominguez, President and CEO of John Clements Consultants, Inc. and a member of iCare’s Board, spoke about the values behind the partnership.

“When iCare set out to find a brand ambassador, they were not just looking for a familiar face. They were looking for someone who could represent the values at the core of their mission: compassion, dignity, and reliability,” Dominguez said.

She recalled how her late brother, respected talent manager Leo Dominguez, mentored Janine not only as an artist, but as a person with a voice and advocacy. During Leo’s final days, iCare provided care and support to their family with quiet dignity.

“That kind of presence leaves a mark,” she said. “It reminded us what true healthcare means. It is not just about coverage. It is about connection.”

For iCare, Janine’s appointment is not only a strategic move but a symbolic one. Her commitment to purpose, her openness about grief and healing, and her advocacy for mental health and wellness align naturally with iCare’s mission to be more than a health provider.

“Janine represents what we believe in,” Francisco said. “Hope, dignity, and the courage to say yes to better health.”

As iCare continues its growth journey, it remains focused on delivering human-centered, value-driven solutions. With today’s launch, the company reaffirms its role as a partner in every Filipino’s health journey, proving why it is fast becoming the best affordable HMO in the country.
