The Asia’s Modern Hero Awards 2025, held today, September 5, 2025 at Okada Manila, recognized Geronimo “Ronnie” V. Francisco, President and CEO of iCare HMO, as Hero of Transformational Leadership in Health Management.
An actuary by training with more than 30 years of experience in the insurance and HMO industry, Ronnie has built his career on data-driven insight, risk management, and sustainable growth strategies. Before becoming iCare’s CEO, he held senior leadership roles across major insurers and HMOs, where he helped shape competitive products, streamline operations, and strengthen financial resilience.
This actuarial discipline guided iCare’s transformation. From 35,000 covered lives and PHP437 million in revenues in 2018, the company has grown to more than 780,000 members and PHP5.8 billion in revenues by Q3 of 2025. Its workforce expanded from fewer than 50 to over 900, supported by scaled systems, from just 4 call center seats to 250, and 200 dedicated claims processors ensuring efficiency for a rapidly expanding membership.
