The Next Generation of Leadership: Meet Daniel Tan Yik Keong, Director of iCare

The future of healthcare will be shaped not only by experience, but also by the perspectives of a new generation of leaders who understand the opportunities and challenges of an increasingly digital, interconnected, and data-driven world. At iCare, Singaporean business leader Daniel Tan Yik Keong brings that perspective to the Board of Directors, combining academic excellence, financial discipline, and a forward-looking mindset with a strong commitment to responsible governance.

As the youngest member of the Board, Daniel represents a new generation of professionals whose perspectives have been shaped by one of Asia’s most dynamic business environments. His appointment reflects iCare’s belief that effective governance is strengthened by diversity of thought, intergenerational collaboration, and leaders who can anticipate the evolving expectations of employers, healthcare providers, and future generations of healthcare consumers.

Today, iCare ranks among the Philippines’ top three Health Maintenance Organizations in terms of membership fee revenue, reflecting the confidence that employers, organizations, and individual members continue to place in the Company. Daniel’s international outlook complements iCare’s continuing transformation under its Singapore-based shareholders. As the Company strengthens its new DNA by blending Singaporean efficiency with Filipino care, he contributes valuable perspectives shaped by Singapore’s culture of governance, innovation, financial discipline, and operational excellence.

Daniel is currently pursuing a Double Degree in Accountancy and Business at the Singapore Management University (SMU), one of Asia’s leading universities for business and management education. He has consistently demonstrated academic excellence, maintaining a Magna Cum Laude standing while earning a place on the Dean’s List and actively contributing to the university community through leadership and service. His studies, complemented by an international programme in finance at Seoul National University, have further broadened his understanding of global business, corporate governance, financial management, and international markets.

Beyond the classroom, Daniel has gained valuable professional experience with leading global professional services firms, including KPMG and Deloitte, where he supported audit engagements involving financial institutions, publicly listed companies, government statutory bodies, and real estate organizations. These experiences provided him with early exposure to financial reporting, enterprise risk, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and corporate governance within complex and highly regulated organizations.

Daniel also completed internships with iCare, supporting financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliation, cash flow analytics, and financial analysis. His familiarity with the Company’s operations, together with his strong analytical foundation, enables him to contribute constructively to Board discussions involving financial stewardship, operational performance, digital transformation, and long-term value creation.

At Singapore Management University, Daniel served in leadership roles within the Financial Advisory and Compliance Team (FACT), including as Vice President for Marketing and Communications. In this capacity, he worked closely with university leadership, student organizations, and external stakeholders to strengthen communications, governance, and organizational effectiveness. His leadership experience reflects an early appreciation for accountability, collaboration, and responsible institutional leadership.

His commitment to service extends beyond academia. Through volunteer initiatives supporting charities and community organizations in Singapore, Daniel contributed to programs promoting transparency, good governance, and stronger accountability within the charitable sector while helping expand opportunities for underserved communities.

These experiences have reinforced his belief that sustainable organizations create value not only through financial performance but also through meaningful social impact.

As a Director of iCare, Daniel contributes a perspective shaped by financial discipline, digital fluency, and the expectations of a new generation of professionals and consumers. His voice complements the extensive experience of the Board while helping ensure that iCare remains responsive to technological innovation, changing workplace dynamics, evolving consumer expectations, and the future of healthcare.

Daniel believes that the most resilient organizations are those that continue learning, embrace innovation responsibly, and remain committed to creating long-term value for people. His perspective reflects iCare’s vision of combining Singaporean efficiency with Filipino care, supporting the Company’s continued evolution while advancing its purpose of enabling more Filipinos to say yes to better health.
