30 Apr COVID-19: How to Protect Yourself if You Have Pre-existing Conditions
Based on the information that we have now, people with serious underlying medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes, asthma and lung disease, are more susceptible to contracting COVID-19. The Department of Health has advised people with pre-existing conditions to stay home as much as they can, but sometimes going out is inevitable. Here’s are the precautionary measures that you should be practicing:
1. Make sure that you have enough supply of your medications at home to limit the need to go out to buy.
2. Eat balanced and nutritious meals to boost your immune system.
3. Get enough hours of sleep. Lack of sleep could weaken your immune system and make you more susceptible to sickness.
4. Keep stress at a minimum if you can. When we are stressed, it reduces the capacity of the immune system to fend off antigens.
5. Stay home as much as you can and only go out when necessary.
